"Your Lawyer is an Extension of You"
Many clients over the years - have begun a professional attorney/client relationship with me by stressing to me that "We're not the kind of people that sue."
I understand. I personally share the same ideal - and I come from a family that has always held the very same sentiments and values as these clients. My dad said something to me as a child though, that I will never forget:
"Sometimes, son - life brings a fight to a good person who hasn't done anything wrong ... nothing to deserve the wrong being suffered. A person can only do one of two things in that situation. It's easy to lay down and let 'em roll right over you. Much tougher to stand up and say: No! No you don't! Not this time! Not to me!"
Most often, standing up for yourself and your loved ones is one of the toughest challenges a person can face in life. Sometimes, just doing so brings you and your family the peace of mind that only knowledge of truth can bring. Other times - you end up helping the faceless many who will be spared great suffering because YOU bothered to stand up and fight.
